English in Action 2022/23
The English-in-Action-week is going to take place from Monday, Feb. 27th to Friday, March 3rd, 2023. That means the participants (3rd and 4th formers only) will start one week after the halfterm holidays.
This year 71 pupils (35 4th formers and 36 3rd formers) want to enjoy EiA. They will be divided into four groups. Each group will be taught by a native speaker. The older ones will emphasize on the UK and London. All of them will play loads of language games, read and listen to stories, and act out funny sketches.
The pupils who don't take part will have a week of normal teaching with a lot of revision and training but they won't have any tests or exams.
Last year 74 pupils enjoyed a great time with English teachers from Great Britain. They designed clothes and presented them in fashion shows. They did journalist work and wrote newsreports and weather-forecasts. They created commercials about cosmetics and sports-equipment. They made up stories and were drawing comics. On Friday parents and teachers were invited to watch their shows. At the end they got certificates.
Pupils definitely grow in confidence by using a foreign language for five days and increase their competence in talking, writing and listening, as you can see in the video underneath.
The participants will get an EDUpage-message on Monday, Feb. 20th, 2023 about the complete EiA-organisation and how to deposit the money (price this year: € 124.-).
The non-participants will also get detailed information about their timetable and classrooms.
